Mess tin was found in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, in the Elbrus region in the mountains at an altitude of 4 kilometers 200 meters. It was discovered by search engines looking for missing Soviet soldiers who died in the mountains in 1942. It was found in the ice by a metal detector
