Iron cross from personal collection. According to the owner resident of the city of Volgograd (former Stalingrad), this is one of many crosses that were delivered in the Stalingrad cauldron for awarding the surrounded soldiers of the 6th army, during the operation – Stalingrad airlift. This cross was never awarded and was found in one of the boxes to airfield Pitomnik
