The helmet was found in the vicinity of the city of Belgorod, near the river Siverskyi Donets in the positions of the 320 th infantry division of the Wehrmacht. The helmet was found in a pile of bricks, most likely this place was a dugout. Possible damages on the helmet was caused by the collapse of the dugout.
