The badge was found near the village of Maxim Gorkiy (Stalingrad region). In the area of the village was stationed 1 and Il 2 of pontonier battalion (pontonier – Kriegsmarine post, which had been pontoon bridges) to ensure the pontoon crossing across the Volga river after the capture of Stalingrad. But these units were surrounded near the village of Maxim Gorkiy. Unique, very rare badge for Stalingrad.
